Amino acids are building blocks for proteins and peptides. Thymus peptides are formed in the thymus gland. The thymus gland is an organ located in the thoracic cavity that is unknown to most people despite its great importance for the immune system and which shrinks during life. It is the place in the organism where important immune cells are trained to recognise and fight foreign substances such as bacteria or viruses. Consequently, the thymus gland plays an essential role in building the immune system, as it is through it that the cellular immune response is controlled. In this context, thymus peptides promote the maturation of immune cells.
